Certified ADA Compliant: Corada Platinum Certified
The 2622KL meets the MDE standards for both wheelchair scales (32" x 40" platform, 2" edge protection, 1:8 slope) and stand-on scales (slip-resistant platform, handrail within 34" to 38"). Health o meter Professional is the only manufacturer with a full portfolio of independently certified ADA compliant scales. Certified is not the same as "ADA-friendly," and that difference matters in audits, inspections and accreditation reviews.
U.S. Access Board MDE standards: key deadlines
- New equipment bought since July 8, 2024 (HHS-funded providers) or October 8, 2024 (state and local governments) must meet the standards until the facility reaches its required share.
- By July 8, 2026 (HHS) and August 9, 2026 (DOJ), each facility needs at least one accessible exam table or chair and one accessible weight scale.
- Ongoing, at least 10% of each type of equipment, and no fewer than one unit, must be accessible (20% for mobility-focused rehabilitation facilities).

The Health o meter 2622KL is a newer ADA-compliant scale that weighs both wheelchair users and standing patients, combining the extra-large 40" x 32.25" dual-ramp platform of the 2620KL with an extended antimicrobial handrail and a wall-mountable display. It has a 1000 lb (454 kg) capacity, is Platinum certified by Corada, and folds on built-in casters for storage.
