How to choose a spirometer
- Handheld, PC-based or lab system. The EasyOne Air runs as a standalone handheld or in PC mode; the Easy on-PC and Welch Allyn DCS Spirometry run on a PC (DCS shares software with PC-based resting ECG); the EasyOne Pro and EasyOne Pro LAB are 18 lb desktop systems, and the Pro LAB adds Lung Clearance Index by multiple-breath nitrogen washout.
- Calibration. ndd's TrueFlow ultrasonic sensor needs no calibration; calibration checks with a 3 L syringe are supported where NIOSH/OSHA, disability testing or facility QC requires them. Welch Allyn DCS is sold without or with a calibration syringe.
- Disposables. EasyOne Air and Sky use EasyOne FlowTube mouthpieces; Easy on-PC, EasyOne Pro and Pro LAB use Spirette mouthpieces; Welch Allyn systems use disposable flow transducers (25-pack or 100-pack for CP 150 and CPWS 5).
- Connectivity. EasyOne Connect exports HL7, XML, GDT and PDF for EMR integration; the EasyOne Sky adds nddHub and nddCloud for multi-site test monitoring; DCS offers EMR integration, user roles, audit trails and PDF saving to the network.
- Occupational testing. Package options include the EasyOne Air occupational package (2500-PKG) and Easy on-PC occupational package (2700-PKG).

FAQ
Do ndd spirometers need calibration?
No. TrueFlow ultrasonic flow measurement stays stable, so no calibration is needed. Where a protocol requires calibration checks, an ndd 3-liter syringe confirms the device is within limits without adjusting it.
Which mouthpieces or transducers do I need?
EasyOne Air and Sky use FlowTubes (5050-50 or 5050-200); Easy on-PC, EasyOne Pro and Pro LAB use Spirettes; Welch Allyn CP 150, CPWS and DCS systems use disposable flow transducers. A Welch Allyn 3 L calibration syringe is available for CPWS and CP 200.
Can we buy on a Vizient or Provista contract or request a quote?
Yes. Vizient and Provista members can request contract pricing; request a quote or call (800) 575-2375.
