How to choose a Hyfrecator setup
- Output range: the Hyfrecator 2000 has a high output terminal for desiccation and fulguration that need more energy and a low output terminal for delicate, low-intensity work. Independent outputs allow two different therapeutic effects.
- Safety monitoring: one microprocessor controls output and a second monitors the system and ends activation if a safety hazard is detected.
- Activation: choose hand or foot-activated autoclavable pencils; the foot control pencil (7-900-6) has a 10 ft cord.
- Bipolar and return electrodes: add the 12 ft bipolar cord (7-809-12) for Hyfrecator bipolar forceps, and the reusable patient plate (7-900-7) for the Hyfrecator 2000.
- Smoke capture: office electrosurgery creates plume; a compact evacuator such as the Bovie Smoke Shark III with a pencil adapter captures it at the tip.
