The 2101KL meets the MDE standards for stand-on scales: a slip-resistant platform and bilateral handrails within the required 34" to 38" height. Certified is not the same as "ADA-friendly," and that difference matters in audits, inspections and accreditation reviews.
U.S. Access Board MDE standards: key deadlines
- New equipment bought since July 8, 2024 (HHS-funded providers) or October 8, 2024 (state and local governments) must meet the standards until the facility reaches its required share.
- By July 8, 2026 (HHS) and August 9, 2026 (DOJ), each facility needs at least one accessible exam table or chair and one accessible weight scale.
- Ongoing, at least 10% of each type of equipment, and no fewer than one unit, must be accessible (20% for mobility-focused rehabilitation facilities).

The Health o meter 2101KL is an ADA-compliant digital stand-on bariatric scale with a 1000 lb (454 kg) capacity, a large 26" x 22" low-profile platform, and four-point "live" handrails for patient stability. A 180-degree swiveling color display, antimicrobial keypad, and EMR connectivity make it well suited to physician offices, hospitals, clinics, and long-term care.
